Shawna Murray graduated with a Bachelor of Science, Physical Therapy, from UBC in 1998. She became a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapists (Part B Diploma of Advanced Manual and Manipulative Therapy) in 2004, and obtained her Certificate of Medical Accupuncture in 2006. She is currently working on courses in Visceral Manipulation. Shawna also presently teaches Orthopaedic Manual Therapy Courses for the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. Shawna enjoys treating a broad spectrum of injuries, but has a special interest in complex and chronic spinal injuries. Having just had her first child, she also has a special interest in helping new moms regain and maintain optimal function in their bodies postpartum. She uses a holistic approach to treatment, integrating manual therapy, visceral manipulation, accupuncture, movement retraining, and exercise to improve her clients' function. When not at work, Shawna enjoys running, hiking, mountain biking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, spending time with family and friends, reading, and traveling.
